Vehicle

The Vehicle master in LogixFlow allows you to record and manage all company-owned or vendor-owned vehicles used for logistics operations. It is an essential part of transport and yard modules, ensuring proper identification, costing, and allocation of vehicles to jobs or trips.

Prerequisites

  • Access to System Settings → Masters menu.
  • Permission to create or edit Vehicle Master data.
  • Vehicle categories, vendors, and drivers must already exist in their respective masters.

Overview

The Vehicle List view displays all registered vehicles along with key identifiers such as Registration Number and Registration Place. Each vehicle record can be edited individually using the action buttons, allowing quick updates to operational or compliance-related information.


 

Creating a New Vehicle

  1. Click + Vehicle to open the vehicle creation form.
  2. Enter all required fields marked with a red asterisk (*).
  3. Fill in additional specifications and operational limits as needed.
  4. Click Save to register the vehicle in the system.

 

Field Descriptions

Field Name Description
Registration Number * Unique vehicle registration plate number.
Registration Place * Region or authority where the vehicle is registered.
Registration Date Official registration date of the vehicle.
Chassis Number Manufacturer’s chassis identification number.
Engine Number Engine serial number used for tracking and compliance.
Model Vehicle model or series.
Vehicle Type * Company Owned, External
Vehicle Make Manufacturer or brand of the vehicle.
Length / Width / Height Physical dimensions used for capacity planning.
Unladen Weight Vehicle weight without cargo.
Payload Capacity Maximum cargo load capacity.
Max Distance Per Trip Operational distance limit per trip.
Fuel Type Diesel, Petrol, EV, CNG or NSG
Performance Cost Cost per kilometer or performance metric.
Insurance Date Insurance expiry or renewal date.
Operating Unit Branch or business unit responsible for the vehicle.
Body Type * Open, Closed, Container, Closed Refrigerated.
Driver One / Driver Two Primary and secondary assigned drivers.

  • Assign vehicles to Trips and Job Orders for execution and tracking.
  • Support cost calculation, route planning, and capacity optimization.
  • Enable preventive maintenance and compliance monitoring.
  • Link vehicle data with LogixDMS shipments for end-to-end visibility.

Tips

  • Ensure Registration Numbers are unique to prevent duplicate records.
  • Use Operating Units to segregate vehicles by branch or depot.
  • Keep insurance and compliance dates updated for automated alerts.
  • Assign drivers carefully to avoid scheduling conflicts.
