Managing Quotation Rate Matrix

A Rate Matrix allows you to define and manage standardized pricing for services such as freight forwarding, transportation, and warehousing. By maintaining rate matrices, your sales and operations teams can generate quotations quickly, accurately, and consistently—significantly reducing manual effort and pricing errors.

 

Accessing Rate Matrix

  1. From the main navigation menu, go to System Settings.
  2. Select the mene Rate Matrix.

    Use case: A logistics company administrator accesses this section to update annual freight rates for different trade lanes.

Managing Rate Matrix

Once inside the Rate Matrix section. You will be able to define the Rate Matrix for Freight Forwarding, Transportation,and  Warehousing

The existing rate matrix is displayed in a tabular format with columns such as Number, Name, and Creation Date.

Use case: A sales representative quickly locates the “Export Australia” rate matrix to prepare a quotation for a customer shipping goods to Sydney.

  • Click on any row to view or edit the selected Rate Matrix.
  • To create a new Rate Matrix, click + New, Create, or Add (typically located above the list).
  • Enter the required details such as:
    • Matrix Name
    • Service Type (e.g., Freight Forwarding, Transportation, Warehousing)
    • Applicable rates and conditions
  • Save the Rate Matrix to make it available for quotation creation.

Notes & Best Practices

  • Ensure you have the required administrative permissions (for example, membership in a Pricing Manager security group).
  • Review and update the Rate Matrix regularly to reflect changes in fuel costs, carrier tariffs, or market conditions.
  • Use clear, descriptive names such as “Q4 – NA Import Air Rates” to make the matrix easy to identify.
  • Create a separate Rate Matrix for different service types or regions to keep pricing structured and easy to maintain.
